Halloween

One of CJ's favorite times of the year is Halloween. He is quickly passing on his love and excitement for the holiday with the kids. They were very excited to dress up and go Trick or Treating tonight. Ellie had her choice of costumes--a genie, Princess Aurora, and Snow White, but when it came down to it, she chose to wear last years Wicked Witch Costume. She was so cute! Max was a vampire. We went to a Halloween party this morning and he refused to wear it, but not tonight! He even let me put some vampire make up on. He didn't sit very still, but the final result was really cute! They loved going out tonight. Ellie continued trick or treating with her friends long after Max had gotten tired of walking. We have so much candy now, we will be eating it well into the holidays!

Isn't he cute! This was before all of the Vampire Makeup!
Ellie wasn't sure what to think of CJ's new Halloween toy.
Max right after we put the make up on. He was trying to keep the vampire teeth in his mouth. It didn't work.

He didn't sit very still while I was doing his make up, but I still think he made a pretty cute vampire!

Max is ready to go out for Trick or Treating.
One of the first houses he hit. He was very excited and thanked every body as they gave him candy.

Max was very happy with his candy stash. After every house, he showed me his pumpkin and exclaimed, "Mommy, look!"

A picture of our house. It's the best I could get, but it doesn't show all the details that CJ put into it decorating it. There was a strobe light, lots of sound effects and creepy floating heads.

This is probably the best picture I could get of the two of them together.
At the end of the night, Max and Ellie decided to give out candy to the trick or treaters. The big book of spells that they are playing with is holding all of the candy.

Fun With the Pumpkin

Last night, we had a little fun with our pumkin. CJ showed Ellie and Max how a pumpkin becomes a Jack O Lantern. Ellie was a little nervous about cutting into her pumkin, but soon realized how much fun it was to do. She liked scooping the "guts" of the pumpkin. Max--not so much! He tried but got bored easily and did not like to get his hands all slimy. We roasted the pumpkin seeds for a fun treat today and put our new Jack O Lantern outside with the rest of our Halloween decorations.

Ellie and Max enjoyed helping Daddy clean out the pumpkin.

Ellie wanted to know what we do with all the "guts" from the pumpkin, so I showed her how to roast the pumpkin seeds!
